Profile of the Principal

Rev. Dr. Abraham Mulamoottil

Principal

Mar Athanasios College for Advanced Studies (MACFAST)

Tiruvalla, Kerala, India

Born on 15th May, 1954, Rev. Dr. Abraham Mulamoottil had his Doctorate from the Catholic University, Leuven, Belgium. He has over 25 years of professional experience in various capacities. He held senior positions in various institutions in the capacity like Director for six of such institutions, Chancellor, Visiting Professor, Administrator etc.

He was the Director of the Pushpagiri Medical College and Research Centre, Tiruvalla and is a member of the Board of Governors of the Pushpagiri Medical Society. He is the Secretary of the Corporate Educational Agency of the Catholic Diocese of Tiruvalla, a religious and charitable society. He is now working as the Director of the Department of the Higher and Technical Education of the Catholic Diocese of Tiruvalla.

At present, he is the president of the All Kerala Management Schools Association and the Treasurer of the All Kerala Association of the Self Financing Colleges (MCA). It is he who started the first M.Sc. Bioinformatics course in Kerala in 2002 and first M.Sc. Plant Biotechnology course in India in 2003. He is the founder Director and Principal of Mar Athanasios College for Advanced Studies, Tiruvalla, Kerala, India.

Dr. K. Cyriac is currently the Director and Head of the Department of MBA. He handles the subject Executive Communication.

Director, MCA

Mar Athanasios College for Advanced Studies, Tiruvalla

Dr. M. S. Samuel is currently the Director / Professor and Head of the Department of MCA. He took his Ph. D in Mathematics from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Cochin. His field of specialization is Fuzzy Measures and Fuzzy Integrals.  He was formerly worked as Professor and Head of Mathematics Department, Baselius College, Kottayam; Catholicate College, Kottayam; Professor and Advisor at Mahendra Engineering College, Salem, and Baselius Mathews second College of Engineering, Sasthamkotta. He has taught the courses M E (CAD), B. Tech, M.Sc and MCA. He was the Chairman of PG Board of Studies in Mathematics and Member of the academic council of Mahatma Gandhi University.

He has 38 years of teaching and 11 years of research experience. He is a research guide in Mathematics of the Mahatma Gandhi University. He has published several papers in International journals in Mathematics, such as Fuzzy sets and systems, Journal of Fuzzy mathematics, etc.  He is still guiding students in their Ph. D and M. Phil (computer science and mathematics). Also, he has participated and presented papers in several national and international conferences.   He is the Executive Editor of the international referred journal, Bulletin of Kerala Mathematics Association. He has organized a number of national and regional level seminars and workshops.

He is a life member of Indian Society for Technical Education, Operations Research Society of India, Association of Mathematics Teachers of India, Kerala Mathematical Association. He is also a member of Computer Society of India and Association of Computing Machines, USA.
